Reynolds Lake Oconee is proud to announce the recipients of its First Quarter Employee Awards for 2015. Marci Day, housekeeping manager, has been named Leader of the Quarter while both Beverly Berardo, marketing coordinator and property ambassador supervisor, and Carol Harris, administrative assistant of marina services, have been named Employees of the Quarter.

Prior to joining Reynolds Lake Oconee full time, Marci Day was a Probation Officer, supervising probation staff in Jones, Putnam and Jasper counties. She joined Reynolds Lake Oconee in September of 1998 as a part time Guest Services representative, working evenings and weekends. After 30 years of service with the state, Day retired in December 2013 and accepted a promotion as Housekeeping Manager at Reynolds Lake Oconee in the same month.

“I love that I get to interact with almost every department within the company,” says Day. “Every day presents new challenges, and the employees at Reynolds Lake Oconee show teamwork both inside and outside their respective departments.”

Day is a member of First Baptist Church in Eatonton and currently serves on the Youth Committee. She also served as a Girl Scout Leader and has been active with the Junior Chamber of Commerce, or Jaycees. Day has held many Jaycee roles including Local President of the Eatonton Jaycees, State Chaplain (where she received national recognition), and President of the Georgia Jaycees in 2000. She remains an active member of their honor organizations.

Outside of work and volunteer efforts, Day enjoys spending her free time relaxing on her back porch or in her pool with a good mystery novel. She has been married for 15 years to her husband, Mike, and they have one daughter, Halee, who currently attends Putnam County High School.

Having worked as a Regional Manager for a national retail chain and then owning her own small business, Beverly Berardo retired to Reynolds Lake Oconee over 14 years ago. She quickly became associated with the sales and marketing teams in 2002 as a Sales Assistant and Property Ambassador. In June 2008, Berardo joined the marketing department full time in her current role as Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator and Property Ambassador Supervisor.

“Every day I get to work with a highly motivated and creative team to present our community to new prospects,” says Berardo. “Additionally, the marketing team has the unique opportunity to work with all departments within the company to promote the Reynolds Lake Oconee lifestyle. The variety of tasks makes my job so exciting and rewarding.”

Berardo recently stepped down from the Board of the Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation after two years of service. When she is not promoting the community, she and her husband, Tom, love cooking, wine tasting, entertaining and spending time with friends and family.

Carol Harris has been a familiar face around Reynolds Lake Oconee for over 15 years. Harris started working in the accounting department in July 1999 and remained in that role 13 years before she transferred to marina services as the Administrative Assistant just three years ago. Prior to joining Reynolds Lake Oconee, Harris worked for Pioneer Plastics in Greensboro.

“My job is very versatile and keeps me busy,” says Harris. “Reynolds is such a beautiful and great community, and I try to make everyone who walks through our doors have the best experience possible.”

When Harris is not working, she enjoys cooking and working in her yard and garden. She and her husband, Billy Wagner Sr., also love spending time with their family – four children and five grandchildren.
